B0020-12:- Left Side Airbag Deployment Control circuit short to battery Overview:- ISO Code B0020-12 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Left Side Airbag deployment not guaranteed, if a crash happens Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if any of the high side (B14) or low side pin (B13) of Left Side Airbag gets shorted with battery line. Normal Operating Condition No short with battery should be present. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Left Side Airbag Module Airbag Wiring Harness Airbag ECU Healing Condition Remove the short to battery. Component Details:- Left Side Airbag Module: - This airbag is located in seat which inflate between the occupant and door. Airbag ECU: - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Trouble Shooting:-
