SRS / Airbag ECU – DTC Troubleshooting Guide Vers ion: 14.0 Da te: 14-February-2017 Prepared by:Airbag COC Review & Approved by:Sanjeev VM Page: 258 of 549 DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, ensure the following points using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. a) Clear the DTC’s & make sure no DTC’s are present for Airbag system b) Check whether any new DTC’s are getting qualified for repeated cranking. c) Ensure the Airbag Warning Lamp Indication is continuously ON in Instrument Cluster for 4 seconds after Ignition ON d) Ensure the Airbag Warning Lamp Indication goes OFF after 4 seconds from Ignition ON. Circuit Schematic Diagram:- Schematic shown below for illustration Battery>>>>>Fuse>>>>Relay>>>>>>>Sensor/Actuator>>>>>ECU IS DTC PRESENT? CLEAR DTC . TURN OFF & ON IGNITION & CHECK FOR DTC’s (at least 2 to 3 times). IS DTC STILL PRESENT ? 1. READ EXISTING AIRBAG ECU SYSTEM CONFIGURATION USING EOL or SERVICE TOOL. 2. VERIFY WHETHER T HE VEHICLE IS HAVING THE CORRECT AIRBAG ECU SYSTEM CONFIGURATION AS PER THE VC? IS CONFIG. CORRECT ? W RITE CORRECT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION IN A IR B AG ECU USING EOL or SERVICE TOOL YES NO NO YES NO YES TURN OFF & ON THE IGNITION & CHECK FOR DTC’s IS DTC STILL PRESENT? NO 1. TURN OFF I GNITION & CHECK THE VEHICLE WIRING HARNESS FOR ANY DEVICES CRASH ( OUTPUT HARDWARE (CRO)) PHYSICAL LY PRESENT, BUT NOT REQUIRED AS PER VEHICLE REQUIREMENT. 2. REMOVE THE WIRING FOR THE DEVICE ( CRO ) NOT REQUIRED AS PER VEHICLE REQUIREMENT. STOP RE - CONNECT THE ECU, CRASH OUTPUT HW & W/H MODULE IN THE VEHICLE YES START B 1 0 1 0 55 :: Crash O utput H ardware not configured . TURN ON IGNITION. CONNECT THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL AND CHECK FOR DTC’s
