SRS / Airbag ECU – DTC Troubleshooting Guide Vers ion: 14.0 Da te: 14-February-2017 Prepared by:Airbag COC Review & Approved by:Sanjeev VM Page: 249 of 549 B100B-1A:- Passenger Deactivation switch (PADS) circuit resistance below threshold Overview:- ISO Code B100B1A Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Passenger Airbag related to PADS are deactivated. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged when the PAD Switch circuitry resistance is below 100 - 10% Ω in switch Open condition Normal Operating Condition The minimum resistance for PAD Switch circuitry should be 100 ± 10% Ω in Switch closed condition. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals PAD Switch Airbag ECU Healing Condition The minimum resistance for PAD Switch circuitry should be 100 ± 10% Ω in Switch closed condition. Component Details:- Airbag ECU:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers. PADI (Passenger Airbag Deactivation Indicator): - Passenger Airbag Deactivation Indicator is provided in the Fascia Switch or in SBR display & gives the visual indication to the occupants on the deactivation status of the Passenger Airbag. This indication will glow, if the Passenger Airbag is deactivated. PADS (Passenger Airbag Deactivation Switch):- Passenger Airbag Deactivation (PAD) Switch is provided on the left side of dashboard. Passenger Airbag should be deactivated if a child is seated in the Front Passenger seat (Since, in case of an impact, the deployed airbag will hit the child directly on his head with a heavy force, which can be dangerous to the child). Passenger Airbag can be deactivated by turning the PADS switch in anti -clockwise direction using the Ignition Key. It can be re-activated by turning the PADS switch in clockwise direction using the Ignition key. SBR Display:- SBR (Seat Belt Reminder) display gives visual indication to the occupants regarding the Seat belt buckle status of front & rear passengers & also the PAD Switch status. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Trouble Shooting:-
