SRS / Airbag ECU – DTC Troubleshooting Guide Vers ion: 14.0 Da te: 14-February-2017 Prepared by:Airbag COC Review & Approved by:Sanjeev VM Page: 166 of 549 U1006-43:- Control Module Internal special memory failure Overview:- ISO Code U100643 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Inst rument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Crash detection performance is degraded. Firing of any devices is not guaranteed & none of the external device monitoring is guaranteed. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if: 1. EOL programming disturbed due to interrupted power supply. 2. EEPROM is corrupted due to internal micro issues. Normal Operating Condition Special memory failure should not be present. Probable Trouble Area EOL programming, Airbag ECU. Healing Condition 1. Clear DTC. Turn OFF & ON Ignition & Check for DTC’s. 2. If DTC is still present, Replace the Airbag ECU with the new one (ensure the correct configuration as per VC). Component Details:- Airbag ECU:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Trouble Shooting:-
