SRS / Airbag ECU – DTC Troubleshooting Guide Vers ion: 14.0 Da te: 14-February-2017 Prepared by:Airbag COC Review & Approved by:Sanjeev VM Page: 146 of 549 B100F-11:- Frontal Impact Passenger sensor circuit short to ground Overview:- ISO Code B100F11 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Front Crash detection performance is degraded & Front Passenger angular crash detection is not guaranteed. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if any of the high side (B8) or low side pin (B7) of Frontal Impact Passenger Sensor gets shorted with ground line. Normal Operating Condition No short with ground should be present. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Frontal Impact Passenger sensor Airbag Wiring Harness Airbag ECU Healing Condition Remove the short to ground. Component Details:- Frontal Impact Sensor:- It is usually located in the radiator support vertical member. Front impact sensors collect the data necessary to make decisions about Airbag deployment. Airbag ECU:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the Driver and passengers. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. Trouble Shooting:-
