SRS / Airbag ECU – DTC Troubleshooting Guide Vers ion: 14.0 Da te: 14-February-2017 Prepared by:Airbag COC Review & Approved by:Sanjeev VM Page: 116 of 549 B100E-12:- Frontal Impact Driver sensor circuit short to battery Overview:- ISO Code B100E12 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Front Crash detection performance is degraded & Front Driver angular crash detection is not guaranteed. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if any of the high side (B5) or low side pin (B6) of Frontal Impact Driver sensor gets shorted with battery line. Normal Operating Condition No short with battery should be present. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Frontal Impact Driver sensor Airbag Wiring Harness Airbag ECU Healing Condition Remove the short to battery. Component Details:- Frontal Impact Sensor:- It is usually located in the radiator support vertical member. Front impact sensors collect the data necessary to make decisions about Airbag deployment. Airbag ECU:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and passengers. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locki ng sound. Trouble Shooting:-
