P0641 – 1C: Sensor supply 1 - voltage out of range Overview: DTC Description as per ISO standard Sensor supply 1 - voltage out of range ECU Pin Number ECU pin A42, A40, A38 Customer Symptom MIL Lamp ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Cruise control off, Torque limited, Particulate filter lamp, Regen off, Engine may not start Lamp Status (If Any) MIL On Fault Detection Condition (Root cause) At ignition On Normal Operating Condition No Fault Code Probable Trouble Area 1. Fuel rail pressure supply pin (A42) short to ground 2. EGR position sensor supply (A40) short to ground 3. Turbo boost position sensor supply (A38) short to ground 5. EMS ECU Healing Condition Clear through diagnostic tool Ignition OFF & ON Component Details: EMS ECU has two Internal 5 Volts power supplies. Power Supply 1 will provide input voltage to a group of sensors – A. and Power Supply 2 will give input voltage to another group of Sensors-B.. Preliminary Checks: • Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned above. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. • Check whether similar complaints are earlier reported. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. • Check the connection of sensors powered by sensor supply Voltage 1. Follow sensor supply voltage1 check /rectification process. • Check sensor connections for rust dirt etc; Follow rectification process of concerned sensor if faulty. • Check with diagnostic tool if the sensor supply voltage lies in between 4.75 V to 5.35 V. • Check ECU; Replace ECU, if problem still persists.
