B2218- 12: Headlamp Auto On Enable Switch - circuit short to battery ISO Code (DTC Code) B2218-12 Customer Symptom Cannot switch off auto light feature Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Cannot switch off auto light feature. Lamp Status (If Any) NA Fault Detection Condition This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine execution. User has to operate the switch manually during routine. If short to battery circuit fault is detected for Headlamp Auto On Enable Switch then this DTC code will be returned with the Routine results. Normal Operating Condition There should not be any fault returned by routine. Probable Trouble Area r. 1. BCM connector Fault. s. 2. Harness issue. t. 3. Switch fault. u. 4. ECU fault. Healing Condition v. 1. Give ignition cycle after fault removal w. 2. Clear DTC command- No DTC logged Component Details: In IGN/RUN/Crank power mode if Auto mode is selected & Light sensor detects darkness then Low beam & position lamps are turned ON. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
