START Connect Diagnostic tool and Run Input Test Routine and operate the switches as mentioned in the input switch test routine specification. Is DTC B1601 – 12 logged by Routine? Disconnect vehicle battery connection. (Please follow the safety guidelines) Check BCM and Bonnet switch connectors for terminal backout Are connectors loose? 1.Remove BCM Connector. 2.Perform visual check of connectors for pins bent or damaged. Is connector faulty? Check continuity between BCM connector pin [C4-4] Harness side) with battery [C3-2/C3-1] Continuity Found? 1. Remove Bonnet switch 2. Check continuity between BCM harness side connector pin [C4-4] and Bonnet switch [C103A-1] STOP YES NO YES NO Reconnect connectors firmly Correct connector fault (Terminals Bend) YES NO Correct BCM Side wiring harness (Short to Battery) NO YES B1601 - 12: Bonnet State Switch - Circuit short to Battery or Open Circuit Open Circuit? Perform the visual check of connectors for pin bend or damaged Is connector faulty? Check continuity at Bonnet switch [C103A-1] with ground [C1-34/C1-47] Continuity found? BCM ECU Faulty Correct wiring harness (Open Circuit) YES NO Correct connector fault (Terminal Bend) Correct connector fault at Bonnet switch mating connector (Open Circuit) YES NO YES NO Replace BCM ECU Continuity found?
