B2261 – 15: Right Daylight Running Lamp - Circuit Short to Battery or Open Circuit Overview: ISO Code B2261 – 15 Customer Symptom Right Daylight Running Lamp always ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Right Daylight Running Lamp always ON 2. Battery drain Lamp Status (If Any) Always ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged by BCM when Right Daylight Running Lamp output is shorted to battery or open circuit Normal Operating Condition DRL turn On when Ignition is ON / vehicle is running and both Headlamp and position lamps are ON. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Right Daylight Running Lamp output wire Short to battery or open circuit 3. Right Daylight Running Lamp bulb blown /lamp damaged 4. BCM ECU fault 5. Right Daylight Running Lamp mating connector fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Daylight Running lamps (DRL) are located at right front side of vehicle. DRL turn ON when Ignition is ON / vehicle is running and both Headlamp and position lamps are OFF. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage Trouble Shooting:- 1) Disconnect Vehicle battery. 2) Check continuity between A) right DRL output wire (c4-39) and battery. B) Between BCM pin (c4-39) and BCM battery (c3-2 / c3-1). C) Check for short within BCM. If found , rectify fault 3) Remove right DRL and check continuity between BCM pin (c4-39) and BCM battery (c3-2 / c3-1). If continuity found, correct BCM side wiring harness. 4) Check BCM and right daylight running lamp connectors for terminal back out. If connected loosely, reconnect firmly and check. 5) Remove BCM side connector and perform visual check of connectors for pin bent or damage etc. If found faulty, correct fault. 6) Take out right DRL and check if bulb is blown. if bulb blown (i.e, open circuit), replace the bulb. 7) Remove DRL side mating connector and perform visual check of connector for pin bent or damaged etc. If found faulty, correct fault.
