B2242 – 15: Right Front Fog Lamp Circuit – Short to Battery or Open Circuit Overview: ISO Code B2242 – 15 Customer Symptom 1. Right Front Fog Lamps always ON. 2. Facia Switch illumination for rear fog lamp always ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Right Front Fog Lamps always ON. 2. Facia Switch illumination for front fog lamp always ON 3. Battery drain Lamp Status (If Any) Always ON Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged by BCM when right front fog lamp output is shorted to battery or open circuit Normal Operating Condition If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON then front fog lamps turn ON immediately after pressing the front fog lamp switch. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Right front fog lamp output wire Short to battery or open circuit 3. Right Front Fog Lamp bulb blown /lamp damaged 4. BCM ECU fault 5. Right front fog lamp mating connector fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Right front fog lamps are located at right front side of vehicle. If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON and user presses the front fog lamp switch then front fog lamps turn ON. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2.
