B162C - 12: Tailgate State Switch - Circuit short to Battery or Open Circuit Overview: ISO Code B162C - 12 Customer Symptom 1. Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection doesn’t operate when Tailgate is opened. 2. The IC shows Tailgate as closed status, even if the Tailgate is opened as presumed by the customer. 3. The Mis-lock sound does not occurs on RKE lock command. 4. The vehicle will get lock on RKE lock command. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection does not operate when Tailgate is opened. Lamp Status (If Any) 1. Roof lamp in Auto mode selection is OFF. 2. IC shows Tailgate closed status always Fault Detection Condition This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine execution. User has to operate the switch manually during routine. If short to battery or open circuit fault is detected for Tailgate State Switch, then this DTC code will be returned with the routine results. Normal Operating Condition There should not be any fault returned by routine Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Rear side wiring harness Short to battery or open circuit 3. Tailgate State Switch is damaged or stuck or faulty 4. BCM ECU fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Tailgate State Switch, BCM connector Functionality: If the Tailgate State Switch is short to Battery or Open Circuit, then the Tailgate State is in closed state. If the Tailgate State is closed, then BCM shall receive the feedback of Tailgate State as closed status. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:
