P2453-64: Diesel Particulate Filter differential pressure sensor plausibility Overview: DTC Description as per ISO standard Diesel Particulate Filter differential pressure sensor plausibility ECU Pin Number K15, K16, K42 Customer Symptom MIL ON. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Cruise control off Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON, , DPF lamp ON Fault Detection Condition (Root cause) Condition is tested in control unit afterrun after elapsing of waiting time of 5 Sec,check is carried out during the monitoring period Normal Operating Condition Fault condition no more present. Probable Trouble Area Issue in electrical differential pressure sensor wiring harness Differential pressure sensor failure. EMS ECU. Healing Condition Rectify the error Clear through diagnostic tool Ignition OFF & ON Component Details: The Differential Pressure Sensor for DPF function is to measure the pressure drop across the Diesel Particulate Filter system and send to ECU an output signal of the differential pressure drop. The sensor shall be mounted on engine or chassis, and receives its pressure input from two direct ports attached to the pressure sources across the DPF. In order to operate in severe air pressure conditions (presence of soot or condensate contamination), sensor element must have an high degree of robustness against chemical corrosion. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned above. If Yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. 2. Check whether similar complaints are earlier reported. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to Earlier issue closure. 3. Check whether the EMS is receiving Battery supply and Ground. 4. Check whether the Battery is healthy. 5. Check air and fuel system. 6. DPF filter clogged. 7. Exhaust differential pressure sensor connection. 8. DPF sensor connection.
