P3021-07: Fire Prevention System: Crash Event Detected– Fire Prevention System: crash event detected Overview: DTC Description (User Friendly) Fire Prevention System: Crash Event Detected ECU Pin Number NA Customer Symptom MIL OFF, CEL ON Fault Effects (On Vehicle) - Lamp Status (If Any) CEL ON. CEL Turns Off as and when fault condition is not present / healed. Fault Detection Condition (Root cause) If Airbag Controller send out a CAN signal to EMS indicating Crash event detected. Normal Operating Condition No Vehicle Crash event Probable Trouble Area Check, whether the Airbags are open, If so, rectify the system. Healing Condition Rectify the error Clear through diagnostic tool Ignition OFF & ON Component Details: SRS / Air bag ECU detects various types of crash events using sensors like Front deploy crash, rear crash, crash impact due to non-fire event, LHS crash and RHS crash. Once the SRS / Airbag ECU detects crash, it sends a CAN signal to EMS indicating Crash. Then EMS ECU will perform the safety fuel cut off function. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. 2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. Trouble Shooting: Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Ensure that the repairs are performed - - 2. Check whether the Airbag ECU is sending CAN signal Indicating - No crash detected. Go to Step 3 Perform necessary repairs for Air Bag Controller / Air Bags. 3. Fault Persists. Call Hotline Repeat the above steps for reconfirmation
