Hence, the lever should not be pulled out by force and the 4 step procedure has to be adhered to.  In case of dirt accumulation on the lever, MSD’s pivot can be sprayed on with water to loosen the lever.  MSDs are not interchangeable and the MSD of a battery pack has to be retained with the same pack throughout the pack’s usage. Only in case of failure of the MSD should it be replaced with a new MSD. Removal of HV Battery MSD and Lockout tagout of vehicle is recommended The removal of HV Battery pack MSD (Manual Service Disconnect) and Lockout-tagout procedure must be followed in / during the below mentioned conditions,  Visible damage is observed in the high voltage system and components due to accidents, abuse etc.  Service and maintenance of high voltage system and components.
