SAFARI BSVI SERVICE MANUAL

ELECTRICAL 174 7. Fix Rear view mirror on the windshield glass. NOTE:  If only windshield is damage during accident & rain light sensor is OK then after removing the RLS from front windscreen replace the SILGEL and use the existing rain light sensor on new windshield (separate part number).  Follow proper instructions to replace silgel. B. FUNCTIONAL DETAILS: 1. AUTO RAIN FUNCTION:  Rain sensor recognizes hitting raindrops on the windshield and releases the wiping processes of the windshield wiper according to number of the raindrops.  Auto rain function is activated if the auto wipe switch (Part of combination switch) & ignition is ON.  P1, P2, P3, P4 & P5 have different sensitivity level, which is select by driver when auto wipe function is activate.  P1 is highest sensitivity & P5 is lowest sensitivity. 2. AUTO LIGHT FUNCTION:  Auto Light function is activate if the auto light switch is in auto mode and ignition is ON.  Light sensor sends the light information to BCM, all the time it is active. BCM shall analyze the data and act accordingly.  Both auto light and auto rain function has separate control. Rain Light sensor Controller interfacing with BCM to activate the auto light function:  LIN based controller supplies the LIN signal to the Body Control Module.  BCM gets the auto wipe activation input from the combination switch. BCM shall communicate the analog sensitivity settings to RLS. RLS detects the intensity of rain based on these threshold values. BCM shall then activate the auto wipe function as per signals from rain sensor.  BCM gets the auto light activation input either from the master light switch or from the combination switch or from a separate switch on fascia. BCM shall communicate with the LIN based light sensor and receive the signals from light sensor.  These signals to be evaluated by the BCM, decides when to activate the Auto light function, which includes:  Parking light ON  Head lamp ON (Low/high beam)
