ELECTRICAL 605 ELECTRICAL 8.3 BATTERY FUNCTION The battery has three major functions in the electrical system : • It is a source of electrical energy for cranking the engine. • It acts as a voltage stabilizer for the electrical system. • It can, for limited time, provide energy when the electr ical load exceeds the output of the alternator. TORQUE VALUE TABLE : APPLICATION TORQUEVALUE MOUNTING BATTERYON CLAMP (M8X18) 0.6 Kg fm REMOVAL & RE-FITMENT OF BATTERY : Removal: 1. Slide the driver’s seat towards rear side. 2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal by loosening the nut. 3. Disconnect the battery positive terminal by loosening the nut. NOTE: Ensure that both the battery terminals are away from each other. 4. Remove both the nuts of battery holding studs.
