HVAC 75 23.10 FULLY AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL ( FATC ) A. INTRODUCTION FATC ( Fully Automatic Temperature Control ) system allows the user to configure the desired settings by automatically adjusting the desired air delivery posi- tion, set temperature, blower speed, air source and the desired A/C compressor status. With the Auto button, the user can select all the above settings to be controlled automatically by the climate control algorithm. The climate control system is managed by a fully automatic control panel which is capable for control- ling the temperature, FAN speed, air-distribution settings in the passenger compartment. The Climate control algorithm is designed to main- tain the temperature selected by the user during the fully automatic operation. The user can also select to operate the AC either in a normal or economy mode. The system works to stabilize the passenger com- partment comfort and compensates for any variations in the outside temperature and sun load by taking the inputs from Outside Air Temperature sen- sor and Solar Sensor . Manual intervention always takes priority over auto- matic operations until the user switches back to the automatic operation. Each time when ignition is switched on, the system restores the previous user setting when the ignition was turned off. OPERATION User can select the AUTO mode by pressing the AUTO button and set the desired temperature using the rotary knob, the system will regulate until the set temperature is reached as quickly as possible in the passenger compartment. In ECON A.C. operation, the system automatically cuts off compressor at a higher temperature than normal A.C. mode. The operation can be used dur- ing mild weather conditions for better fuel efficiency. Cabin comfort level may be compromised during this operation. The system remains in fully automatic condition even if the ECON or Rear Demist is turned ON. The FATC can maintain the cabin temperature between 16 0 C to 30 0 C. LOCATION: It is fitted on center finisher below the 2-DIN radio unit.
