10 FUELSYSTEM2.2LDICOR HIGHPRESSUREPUMP(H.PPump) (Fig. 5) HP pump draws fuel from the fuel tank through water sedimenter and fuel filter. It supplies high pressure fuel (upto 1600 bar) to the injectors. It has got inlet metering valve and in-built feed pump, Integrated pressure limiter and integrated fuel temperature sensor. This pump is driven by by the engine timing belt. REMOVALANDINSTALLATIONOFHPPUMP Removal Disconnect the fuel lines from Fuel filter to Pump, and plug the port. Remove the back-leak pipes (pump to filter and Injector to pump) and the electrical connections on the pump. Remove the HP line connected between pump and rail (Ref: Engine overhaul section) Plug the openings of rail and HP pump to avoid dust / dirt entry. Remove the timing belt and pump gear (Refer engine dismantling section) Unscrew the bolts of Pump support on the block and mounting bracket & remove. Remove the pump and place it in a clean area. Installation Fit the pump on the block with the 3 bolts at front (on the mounting bracket) and hand tighten initially. Similarly fit the 6 bolts at the rear mounting bracket, then apply the torque. Fit the gear on the pump shaft with the nut (use special tool) and apply torque. Remove the plugs on pump and rail just before fitting the new set of HP pipes and assemble the pipe connecting between HP pump and rail. Fit all the hydraulic connectors (Back leak pipe, fuel lines etc). Fit the electrical connectors. Fit the timing belt. NOTE Do not bend or apply any force on the HP line while fitment. Ensure that no fuel leakage is observed from any where after starting the engine at idle and at maximum speed of engine. SEDIMENTER (Fig. 6) This is a part of Fuel filteration system. Fuel sedimenter separates Water content in Diesel and to prevent water from entering in the Fuel System. It gives additional water volume storage. This is fitted to the chassis long member (fig.7). A water sensor is fitted in the sedimenter to indicate to the driver that Pump inlet Pump Outlet Venturi Inlet metering valve Fuel temperature sensor Fig. 5 Fig. 6 Water in fuel sensor
