SUSPENSION

34

21. REAR SUSPENSION DISMANTLING OR

INSTALLATION

1. Position the vehicle in the two post lift.

2. Remove and loosen wheel nuts.

3. Remove the wheel.

4. Remove Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank

(refer Engine section).

5. Lift the vehicle using two post lift.

6. Slacken off the hand brake cable.

7. Remove the screw.

8. Remove the brake drum by gently tapping by

mallet.

9. Detach the hand brake cable from the lever on

the trailing shoe by moving the lever towards

the centre of the brake and removing the cable

nipple from its location in the end of the lever.

10.Remove Clip for Parking brake cable holding.

11.Insert a screwdriver through the hole in drum

and press against the hand brake lever.

12.A ‘click’ will be heard as the lever moves down.

This movement compresses the pistons in the

wheel cylinder and thereby increases the

clearance between the brake shoes and the

drum.
