D. OAT SENSOR

The ambient temperature sensor is an encapsulated

thermistor that provides the ECU with an input of

external air temperature. Ambient sensor is a ther-

mistor that decreases its resistance when

temperature increases and increases when tempera-

ture decreases.

LOCATION

Outside Ambient Temperature (OAT) sensor located

on cross member behind the front bumper.

INSPECTION

Measure the resistance between terminals of the

sensor at minimum two temperatures. The re-

sistance value should match with stated values of

resistance in table below

REMOVAL

1. Remove the Front bumper.

(For removal, refer

Font Bumper removal procedure in Body

Section).

2. Disconnect the electrical connection.

3. Pull out the OAT sensor from the location.

FITMENT

For fitment, follow reverse procedure of removal.
