13. MODE & TEMPRATURE CONTROL AC-

TUATOR

The temperature actuator is a high-torque, bi-

directional with position feedback actuator is used to

control the position of Temperature motor flap via the

Temperature control voltage. The outputs are fully

compatible with all physical aspects of directly driv-

ing a motor such as the occurrence of transients at

motor turn-off due to back EMF. The temperature

control will be functional throughout the Ignition is

ON.

The Temperature Control Rotary Knob (Ring) allows

the user to mix the Hot and Cold air, to select the

various combinations by rotating clockwise. Temper-

ature knob controls the servomotor. Total Rotation

Span is 270° with 31 positions (30 detents) each of

9°. The Position of the Temperature actuator is

based on the Knob position of the Control Panel dur-

ing the Ignition ON / OFF.

MODE ACTUATOR

The mode actuator is a high-torque, bi-directional

actuator with position feedback and is used to control

the position of air distribution flap, according to the

mode set by the user. The outputs are fully compati-

ble with all physical aspects of directly driving a

motor such as the occurrence of transients at motor

turn-off due to back EMF. The Mode control will be

functional throughout the Ignition is On.

Mode knob controls the servomotor. When the knob

is turned from Chest/ Chest-Leg/Leg Mode to Leg-

Defrost/ Defrost Mode, the Air Inlet door is moved to
