14.9 REMOVAL OF PARKING BRAKE LEVER
(Applicable to High Version)
1. Position the car in the two-post lift.
2. Place the Parking Brake in Fully released
position.
3. Remove the center console Assy. located in
the cabin.
4. Disconnect the electrical connection to parking
brake lever.
5. Remove the parking brake adjustment nut,
guide pin and remove the equalizer from the
parking brake lever.
6. Unscrew 2 Top mounting bolts and 1 side
mounting bolt of Parking Brake lever and take
out the Assembly.
7. After removing the Parking Brake Lever, lift the
car up.
INSTALLATION OF PARKING BRAKE LEVER
1. Proceed in the reverse order of removal.
2. Tighten the mounting bolts of the parking
brake lever to the torque specified.
3. Adjust the parking brake cable slackness.
NOTE:
Refer parking brake adjustment procedure
(Point 14.8).
4. Reconnect the electrical connections to the
parking brake switch assembly and confirm
that the parking brake lamp becomes “ON”
when parking brake lever is at first notch.
