6. Adjust the parking brake cable slackness as

per the procedure given.

Refer parking brake adjustment procedure

(point

7. Tighten the parking brake slackness

adjustment nut located inside the console.

8. Reconnect the electrical connections to the

parking brake switch assembly and confirm

that the parking brake lamp becomes “ON”

when parking brake lever is at first notch.

9. Fix the Console Rear cover.

PROCEDURE (For HIGH & LOW END)

1. Before parking brake cable slackness

adjustment, confirm the following conditions.

2. Bleeding should be completed. (i.e. there

should not be air trapped in the brake system).

3. Confirm pedal travel by depressing the brake

pedal for few times.

4. Check the lining condition of the rear brake; it

should not have been worn out beyond limit.

After confirming all the above points, start

adjusting the parking brake lever stroke by

either loosening or tightening the self-locking

slackness adjustment nut. For details, refer

maintenance section.

5. Keep Parking brake lever in 0

th

notch and

tighten the parking brake cable adjustment nut

through Console Rear cover opening.

6. Pull Parking brake lever fully and release it for

5 times.

7. If notch position is 4 to 5 then hand brake

setting is OK.

8. If notch position is above 5, then tighten the

hand brake adjustment nut for getting final

notch position.

9. If notch position is below 4, then loosen the nut

for getting final notch position.
