D. REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR :

1. Position the vehicle on two post lift.

2. Disconnect electrical connector of wheel

speed sensor located on the outer side of the

chassis long member.

CAUTION :

Take proper precautions while disconnecting the

wheel speed sensor from vehicle wiring harness,

otherwise it might damage the pins of the

connecter

Remove sensor mounting screw and

remove the wheel speed sensor from the rear

axle.

NOTE :

Before replacing wheel speed sensor carry out

diagnosis of wheel speed sensor. (Refer

Troubleshooting and Diagnosis)

Installation :

1. Clean the speed sensor and its mounting

surface.

2. Check the air gap as follows:

a. Insert a depth gauge and measure the

distance between the toner ring top surface

and rear axle sensor mounting surface. Let it

be ‘A’.

b. Measure the length of the sensor probe. Let

it be ‘B’.

c. Air Gap = A – B

NOTE :

Air gap should be between 0.375mm to 0.875mm.

3. Route the cable properly.

4. Connect the wiring harness connector to

wheel speed sensor cable.

5. Make sure that the sensor cable connector is

fully seated and locked into vehicle wiring

harness connector.

6. Insert the sensor into the sensor mounting

hole and tighten the bolt to the specified

torque (1.0 Kg-m).

7. Clear all fault codes and road test the vehicle

to ensure proper operation of the brake

system.
