B. PERATING PROCEDURE :
Introduction :
The below screen guides user the general
settings and operating instructions of the Tata
Diagnostic Software application.
After opening the application, choose the
appropriate vehicle platform and vehicle variant.
Then click next.
1. Start Communication :
Once you arrive at below screen, you can see all
the ECUs present in that particular variant of the
chosen vehicle platform. Click on the Start button
next to ABS ECU to establish the communication
between ABS ECU and your PC. Refer
connection diagram below.
Once the communication is established the
SERVICES panel will open automatically. You can
see the moving green line at the bottom as a
representation of established communication
between ECU and your PC as shown in below
diagram.
2. Circuit Schematic :
Click on the Circuit Schematic button on the
toolbar to view circuit schematic.
3. Introduction Of Services Panel :
SERVICES panel contains command buttons to
execute various services supported by ECU. Also
at the bottom of the panel, displays ECU Details,
Mode of communication (e.g. Samtec USB) and
Version number of the software.
Click on the buttons to execute respective Service
of the ECU. Use the scroll bar to view more ECU
Services if available.
Services can be executed from “Services” menu
bar. Click on Services [Service name]. Auto
hiding of SERVICES panel is provided to have
bigger preview of services data.
4. ECU Identification Data and ECU
Parameters:
This service displays all ECU related data such as
ECU Container Number, System Name, Software
Version, Hardware Number, TATA Part number,
VIN Number, Variant Code etc.
Click on respective ECU tab to view detailed
information.
5. Read DTC’s:
This service reads the Diagnostic Trouble codes
(
DTCs
) recorded in the ECU. You can see
probable causes and corrective actions for a
particular DTC by selecting the DTC and clicking
on ‘Corrective Actions’ button. These DTCs can
be saved in excel format for future reference.
Select a DTC from the list and click on Corrective
Actions button. This helps the technician in
diagnosing the vehicle
6. Save DTC’s:
The DTC’s can be saved along with technician
information. Below is the screen requesting user
to enter technician details.
The DTC’s will be saved in .csv format
The saved DTC location path will be displayed as
shown above.
View DTC’s:
DTC files viewing window. Select file name from
the list to view it in excel.
7. Clear DTC’s :
The DTC’s can be cleared from the ECU using the
service of Clear DTC’s tab available with Read
DTC’s. While clearing the DTC’s user confirmation
is needed. Also the DTC’s will get saved
automatically before clearing the DTC’s from the
ECU. These saved DTC’s can be viewed later as
shown below.
8. Routine Tests :
In this service user can able to perform the static
routine tests to check the functioning and
communication between sensors and ECU
present. Following are the tests shown that can be
performed through routine test.
9. Input Output Control :
The IO control is used by the tester to actuate the
input signal, internal ECU function or control an
output (
actuator
) of an electronic system without
the input signal. The response from the ECU for
this service ensures proper functioning in the
ECU.
Follow the specified instructions to execute the
test.
10. Repair Bleeding :
The repair bleed service is used to perform the
secondary circuit bleeding to ensure that the
hydraulic system of ABS is free of bubble and Air.
