11.4 MAINTENANCE, INSPECTION AND

TEST

11.4.1 AC PERFORMANCE TEST

PROCEDURE:

NOTE: Initially, conduct open door test and

then close door test.

Insert temperature probe into dash vents. The

probe MUST NOT exceed 50 mm.

Keep all dash vents open & facing straight

ahead position.

STEP 1

Park vehicle in shade, with bonnet

hood closed.

STEP 2

a. Open all the doors for open door test.

b. Close the all doors & windows for

close door test.

STEP 3

Check the ambient temperature Place

a thermometer in the centre dash

vents.

STEP 4

Connect both high & low pressure

gauges to system.

STEP 5

Start the engine and switch ON the

A.C.

STEP 6

Select the following:

Mode Knob : Full Face Position

Blower Switch Knob: On 4th speed

FATC

Fresh/Recirculation Switch,

Fresh air mode for open door test

Recirculation mode for closed door

test. Temperature Control Knob Full

coldest position.

STEP 7

Increase the engine speed to approx.

1500 rpm

STEP 8

Record readings on high & low

gauges (only whilst compressor

running)

STEP 9

Check centre grill temp. after 10 min

NOTE:

exploded views.

11.5. SERVICING PROCEDURE FOR BEHR

REMOVAL

AND

FITMENT

OF

AC

COMPONENTS

For removal HVAC unit dashboard is required to

remove first. For dashboard removal refer body

chapter. Separate HVAC unit from dashboard.

11.5.1 BOWDEN CABLE SERVICING (BEHR)

Removing cable from control panel

1. Press the control panel snaps as shown in

arrow direction 1 and pull the cable.

2. Then remove the cable coil from the control

panel gear.
