Mechanical Components of the Unit:
Gear Engagement and Selection Shaft:
The engagement selection system is X/Y type.
Thanks to the movement on the vertical axis
and the rotation of the upper cam (2), due to
the movement on the horizontal axis of the
engagement actuator, the gear engagement
and selection shaft (1) allows gear engage-
ment through the finger (3) in the lower part
of the shaft, which is in contact with the gear
engagement forks inside the gearbox.
Intermediate flange:
It has the function of:
Positioning the electro hydraulic unit on
the gearbox casing.
Positioning the engagement and selection
shaft in the electro hydraulic unit.
Sealing the gearbox against external agents
such as dust, water and oil leaks.
Electronic Control Unit:
The transmission control unit - CFC319 type -
is located in the passenger compartment un-
der the floor panel trim by the passenger
footwell.
The control unit is housed in a steel bracket
and is in turn secured with another bolted
bracket. The front vehicle wiring arrives at
the control unit with two Tyco male female
80-way connectors.
