ENGINE 1.3L QUADRAJET (90PS)

67

OPERATING TEMERATURE CIRCUIT

When the coolant temperature goes above 88 +/- 2

0

C, the thermostat starts opening and the coolant is

directed towards the radiator.

The radiator causes the coolant temperature to drop

significantly. This cooled coolant is then again is

directed towards pump for recirculation.

EGR AND HVAC RADIATOR CIRCUIT

A part of the coolant coming out from the cylinder

block is directed towards the EGR heat exchanger,

where it absorbs the heat from the exhaust gases

before it mixes with the fresh air. This hot coolant is

then circulated to the HVAC radiator where it transfers

the heat to the heating coil. Now the cooled coolant

is directed towards pump for recirculation.

6. Supply reservoir

2. Engine coolant temperature sensor

7. Engine oil heat exchanger

3. Thermostat

8. HVAC heater pipes

4. Radiator

9. E.G.R. exhaust gas heat exchanger

5. Fan

10. Water recirculation pipe

A. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

In 1.3 QUADRAJET 75ps engine the Engine Cooling

System also includes HVAC heater coil radiator and

EGR heat exchanger in addition to other conventional

components.

COLD AND WARM UP CONDITION CIRCUIT

During the engine cold start and during the

subsequent warm up process (i.e. when the coolant

temperature is below 88 +/- 2

0

C), the coolant from

the cylinder block is directed towards the Thermostat

and since the thermostat is closed, the coolant takes

the by-pass circuit and is directed towards the pump

from where it will be re circulated till the cut-off

temperature is reached.
