vi. Coolant Temperature Sensor :
Component Details :
The temperature sensing circuit uses
Thermistor that is sensitive to change in
temperature. It has basically the NTC
(Negative Temperature Coefficient) means as
the temperature increases, the resistance
decreases.
Component Location :
Coolant temperature sensor is mounted
on thermostat housing (before thermostat),
which is in contact with the engine coolant
and tightened to a specified torque.
Preliminary Checks :
1. Loose/ Damaged Connections between
Sensor and EMS ECU.
2. Check for back out of pins at both Sensor
connector and ECU connector.
3. Check for damage of pins at both sensor
connector and ECU connector.
4. Check the continuity from sensor
connector pins to the ECU pins.
