SUPPLEMENTARY RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS)

INTRODUCTION:

Occupant Restraints are provided in a vehicle to protect the occupants in case of collision.

Vehicle has come up with options of “Primary Restraint & Supplementary Restraint

systems”.

“Primary restraints system” includes the seat belts that are designed for controlled

occupant movement during an accident. This reduces the risk of hard contacts with vehicle

interiors.

“Supplementary restraints system (SRS)” is the inflatable system with airbags & seat belt

Pretensioners that are designed to further enhance level of occupant protection in

accidents.

Relevant SRS module assemblies in vehicle are provided for protection of occupants in

case of front accidents.
