WIRING HARNESS REPAIR MANUAL

WIRING HARNESS REPAIR MANUAL 10 INTRODUCTION A. PRECAUTIONS FOR REPAIR PROCESS Precautions to be taken care while repairing wiring harness - • Before starting the terminal releasing operation, make sure that tip of terminal release tool is inserted into the clearance between the terminal & primary lock. • Never apply force with the terminal removing tool otherwise female terminal’s holder may get damaged or male terminal may get mis-aligned. • In case, terminal is not removed with the light pull, restart the operation from beginning, never pull the wire forcibly. • During insertion of terminal back into the connector cavity, ensure the proper locking of terminal by gentle pull of wire. • The hot air gun used should have a safe distance to distribute the heat evenly around the entire splice sleeve. It should not damage/melt the insulation of nearby wirings. • There must not be more than 4 crimping joints per wire. • Also, minimum 50 mm distance has to be maintained between two splices of repair.
