4.2.2 MAINTENANCE, INSPECTION AND TEST

4.2.2.1 PRELIMINARY INSPECTION

1. Check for oil leakage.

2. Check for any external damage on the gear box.

3. Take the vehicle for a road test and drive the ve-

hicle in all gears including reverse also and check

for any unusual sounds like humming, squeaking

or any other metallic sound.

4.2.2.2 REGULAR MAINTENANCE

1. Position the vehicle on a 2 poster lift.

2. Remove the stone guard (For procedure refer

stone guard removal in Body section)

3. Place a suitable container below the drain plug.

4. Loosen and remove the nut and drain the oil.

5. Refit the drain plug after the oil is completely

drained.

NOTE

Before refitting clean the magnetic drain plug from

the metallic chips.

6. Loosen and remove the filler plug using the offset

socket spanner (Part No 2870 5890 26 10) and

fill the oil as per mentioned quantity.

7. Tighten the filler plug after oil filling to the rec-

ommended torque using offset socket spanner

(Part No 2870 5890 26 10)

NOTE

Always use the oil as recommended and only the

mentioned quantity

Tighten the filler plug to the recommended tight-

ening torque
