ANTI-CRANKING FUNCTION: -
The anti-cranking function is an additional function
of EMS ECU. Anti-cranking function provides the
following safety conditions: -
1. Automatic disengagement of starter motor
once the engine is started to avoid over-
running of starter motor
2. Not allowing starter motor to engage when
engine is running
3. No starter motor function when vehicle is in
running condition.
4. Not allowing starter motor to crank the engine
under low battery condition (below 6.5V) to
avoid further draining of battery.
LOCATION
It is fitted in Engine compartment on battery bottom
support, besides the battery.
TIGHTENING TORQUE TABLE
DESCRIPTION
TORQUE
Hex Bolt M6 x10 0.95 Kgfm
REMOVAL
1.Open the bonnet and disconnect the battery neg-
ative terminal.
2.Remove ECU rubber cover.
3.Disconnect the both connectors of EMS. (
Remove
EMS wiring harness connector first then main wir-
ing harness connector
).
3. Remove the mounting screws and take out the
ECU.
FITMENT
1. Locate the ECU on mounting brackets and fit the
four mounting bolts.
Tightening torque for Bolts - 0.95 Kgfm.
2. Connect the electrical connections (
Main W/H
and EMS W/H
).
3. Connect the battery negative terminal & close the
bonnet.
