III. SIDE AIRBAG

C-channel of 5mm thick and adequate for holding

Side airbag can be used for mounting module on

bench vice.

IV. INFLATABLE CURTAIN AIRBAG

Inflator of airbag module can be removed and held in

bench vice.

Seat belt assembly can be directly held in bench

vice. Seat belt webbing length could be cut prior to

deployment.

1. Use a 2 core electrical wire at least 15m long,

and connect to the pig-tail.

2. Place a vehicle battery or equivalent source at a

distance of 15m from the restraints module as-

sembly. The battery voltage shall be in the range

of 8-16V.

3. Connect one core of the electrical wire to the

positive (+ve) battery terminal.

DO NOT CONNECT THE OTHER CORE WITH

NEGATIVE (-ve) BATTERY TERMINAL.

1. Make sure that no person is present within 15m

radius of the "to be disposed" module assembly.

2. Connect the other core of the electrical wire with

the negative (-ve) battery terminal for deploy-

ment of module assembly.

3. After deployment, wait for at least 10 minutes to

ensure that none of the components within the

module assembly is too hot.

4. Take out the deployed module assembly from

bench vice and conduct suitable activities to-

wards scrapping of the constituent components.

Airbag module assemblies are generally made

up of aluminum, stainless steel or mild steel, ny-

lon, plastic etc. After the module assembly is

removed from bench vise, the constituent com-

ponents could be scrapped as per the guide-

lines/laws for non-hazardous waste materials.
