8.8 ON VEHICLE REPAIRS
A. TRANSFER CASE
REMOVAL
1. Switch off Ignition.
2. Disconnect the battery negative.
3. Remove the pre-silencer
(1) (or Under-Body
Catcon in BS IV Vehicles),
by loosening the
nuts
(2)
by holding their bolts
(3)
.
4. Disconnect TOD Electrical Connector.
5. Remove the front and rear propeller shaft.
(
For procedure refer Propeller Shaft)
6. Disconnect the Gear shifter assembly mounted
on TOD.
7. Support the TOD from below using a movable
support.
8. Loosen and remove the five TOD mounting
bolts on Gearbox and lower the TOD Assembly.
