21. Press the inner and outer race of taper roller
bearing with the help of drift on main shaft.
22. Control dimension is to be measure as per
shim selection procedure as given below:
A. Control dimension of 224.85 +/- 0.05mm is for
highlighted parts as shown below.
B. Measure the distance between outer race of
taper roller bearing on main shaft
(Intermediate plate) to the outer race of pilot
bearing. Let the dimension as “B”.
C. SHIM ON DRIVE SHAFT (
Y
) = 224.85 + 0.02
(BEARING PRELOAD) – (Z + B).
Z= Shim Thickness (Refer page No:35).
23. Place the shims in drive shaft pocket (Y) and
place the outer race of taper roller bearing in
the drive shaft pocket by using tool (Part No:
5403 5890 26 06
).
24. Press the taper roller bearing on drive shaft
with the help of drift.
25. After completing shim procedure for control
dimensions place the shim on intermediate
plate along with the outer race of taper roller
bearing.
