D. REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR :
1. Position the vehicle on two post lift.
2. Disconnect electrical connector of wheel
speed sensor located on the outer side of the
chassis long member.
CAUTION :
Take proper precautions while disconnecting the
wheel speed sensor from vehicle wiring harness,
otherwise it might damage the pins of the
connecter
4. Remove sensor mounting screw and remove
the wheel speed sensor from the rear axle.
NOTE :
Before replacing wheel speed sensor carry out
diagnosis of wheel speed sensor. (Refer
Troubleshooting and Diagnosis)
Installation :
1. Clean the speed sensor and its mounting
surface.
2. Check the air gap as follows:
a. Insert a depth gauge and measure the
distance between the toner ring top surface
and rear axle sensor mounting surface. Let it
be ‘A’.
b. Measure the length of the sensor probe. Let
it be ‘B’.
c. Air Gap = A – B
NOTE :
Air gap should be between 0.375mm to 0.875mm.
3. Route the cable properly.
4. Connect the wiring harness connector to
wheel speed sensor cable.
5. Make sure that the sensor cable connector is
fully seated and locked into vehicle wiring
harness connector.
6. Insert the sensor into the sensor mounting
hole and tighten the bolt to the specified
torque (1.0 Kg-m).
7.
Clear all fault codes and road test the vehicle
