NOTE
•
Loosening the valve adjusters reduces the
pressure the valve springs exert on the
camshaft while indexing the camshaft for
proper timing.
1. Rocker Nut.
2. Adjusting Screw Rocker Arm.
18. Place camshaft locking pin.
19. Using a suitable wrench, rotate the bolt
securing the cam gear to the camshaft
clockwise until the camshaft locking pin falls
into the timing reference hole and locks the
camshaft in place.

20. Loosen the bolt securing the cam gear to the
camshaft so the cam gear rotates on the
camshaft with some resistance.
21. Place the timing belt over the crankshaft,
camshaft and water pump gears as per
standard sequence.
22. Install the camshaft gear washer lock plate
onto the camshaft gear.
