6.1.4 LOAD SENSING PROPORTIONATING

VALVE

(LSPV) (

FOR NON ABS VEHICLE

ONLY)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

LSPV is required in the braking system during

severe braking. At the time of severe braking most

of the vehicle weight is transferred to the front and

front brake does most of the braking. Rear wheels

are left with little traction and in this high pressure

condition rear wheels have tendency to skid.

The LSPV valve is installed on the chassis and

load sensing spring is connected to the rear axle

at the other end. During heavy braking the valve

limits the pressure to the rear wheels and this

allows rear wheels to continue to rotate instead of

locking and skidding.

LOCATION

The LSPV is mounted on the chassis at the rear

half above the rear axle. It is fitted on the chassis

with the help of two mounting bolts and at the

other end of the adjusting spring is mounted on

the rear axle.

REMOVAL

1. Loosen and remove the mounting bolt and free

the load sensing spring from the rear axle.
