FUELSYSTEM 2.2LDICOR

iii

INTRODUCTION:

The fuel feed system consists of the following

components:

Fuel tank (65 Ltrs capacity)

Water sedimenter

Fuel filter (Single stage type)

High pressure fuel injection pump (HP-Pump)

CommonRail

Fuel Injectors

High pressure lines

Priming Pump / Pear Pump

The fuel is drawn into the High pressure pump

through the Water sedimenter and Fuel filter. The HP

pump supplies high pressure fuel (up to 1600 bar) to

Common rail. The high pressure fuel is supplied to the

injectors through the HP pipes. The injectors supply

the high pressure fuel (atomised) to the combustion

chamber based on the inputs received from the ECU.

A fuel return line from the HP pump and injectors is

connected to the tank via fuel filter thus forming a

closed loop system.
