5.5 Crash Unlock (Auto door unlock on impact sense)

5.5.1 Description

Crash Unlock is a safety feature which shall unlock all doors irrespective to any condition in case of a crash.

When crash is detected, vehicle can be locked again only if the crash signal is restored to active high status.

For added safety, auto lock and Auto relock feature shall get disabled when crash is detected.

In Base and Mid BCM variants, the crash input is received from the inertia switch.

5.5.2 Conditional Requirements

When Crash is active (Crash signal is High), then BCM shall perform following, when ignition is ON state.

Unlocks all the doors

Roof Lamp shall turn ON

All external turn indicators shall turn ON along with telltales on instrument cluster.

New lock request should be considered after IGN cycle if vehicle is unlocked because of CRASH unlock.

i.e. BCM will start receiving the lock and unlock commands after IGN cycle irrespective of CRASH signal

status
