14 Pack water pump with grease.

15 Apply sealing compound to the water pump

housing and to the cover. Place gasket and fit

cover to housing; tighten screws to specified

torque.

16 Fit flanged hub on the taper of the water pump

shaft and tighten castle nut to specified torque.

Match split pin hole and lock it with split pin.

17 Check the overall dimension between the water

pump back cover machined face to pulley

mounting face on hub. It should be 142 + 0.85

mm.

INSTALLATION OF WATER PUMP

1 Install water pump on cylinder block, tighten the

mounting bolts to specified torque.

2 Connect bypass hose with thermostat.

3 Connect cooling water inlet hose to water pump.

4 Mount pulley on water pump pulley hub. Tighten

mounting screws and lock them by bending lock

plate. Fig. 11.

5 Fit alternator belt and adjust tension. Fig. 12.

6 Fit power steering belt and adjust the tension.

7 Fill cooling system with water and anti-corrosive

agent as recommended.

8 Run the engine and check for leakage at hose

connections.
