AIRCONDITIONING
A/C PERFORMANCE CHECK UP PROCEDURE
STEP - I
- OPEN THE DOORS
- CHECK AND ADJUST POSITION OF:
(a) FRESH/RECIRCULATIONCONTROL
(b) AIR DIRECTION CONTROL
(c) TEMPERATURE CONTROL
(d) GRILL DIRECTION
STEP - II
- OPEN ENGINE BONNET
- CHECK
(a) CONDITIONOF CONDENSERSURFACE-
CLEAN CONDENSER WITH LOW
PRESSUREWATER IF REQUIRED
(b) LEVEL OF COOLANT - TOP UP IF
REQUIRED
(c) BELTTENSION - USE BELTTENSION
CHECKING GAUGE
STEP III
- CLOSE BOTH SUCTION AND
DISCHARGE VALVES OF GAUGE
MANIFOLD.
- INSTALL GAUGE MANIFOLD
(a) BLUE HOSE TO SUCTION SIDE
(b) RED /ORANGE HOSE TO DISCHARGE
SIDE.
(c) YELLOW HQSE FREE TO AIR
STEP IV
- START ENGINE
- CHECK AND ADJUST ENGINE RPM AT
IDLING USE RPM METER
STEP-V
SWITCH ON BLOWER TO MAXIMUM
SPEED.
SWITCH ON A/C SWITCH
STEP-VI
CHECK AND ADJUST ENGINE RPM TO
1000 WITH A/C ON USE RPM METER
STEP-VII
CHECK PRESSURE CONDITION OF
SUCTION AND DISCHARGE SIDE ON
THE PRESSURE GAUGES OF GAUGE
MANIFOLD.
- USE GAUGE MANIFOLD
- BETWEEN 1500 AND 2000 RPM AT AN
AMBIENTTEMP OF 35-40

PRESSURE SHOULD BE
-2-3 kg/cm
2
DISCHARGE PRESSURE SHOULD BE-
15-18 kg/cm
2
- CHECK SIGHT GLASS ON RECEIVER
DRIER
- IF REFRIGERANT IS ADEQUATE THE
GLASS WILL BE CLEAR.
- IF REFRIGERANT IS LESS THE GLASS
WILL SHOW EXCESSIVE BUBBLES.
STEP VIII
IF REFRIGERANT LEVEL IS LOW
(a) STOP THE A/C AND ENGINE
(b) CHECK REFRIGERANT LEAKAGE BY
USING LEAK DETECTOR AND SOAP
SOLUTION.
STEP IX
- RELEASE ALL REFRIGERANT
- REPAIR LEAKAGE AND CHECK AGAIN
- VACUUM A/C SYSTEM BY USING
VACUUM PUMP
- RECHARGE REFRIGERANT
STEP X
- CHECK A/C PERFORMANCE - USETHE
THERMOMETER
- SIT IN THE VEHICLE
- CLOSE ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS
- START ENGINE
- SWITCH ON THE BLOWER TO
MAXIMUM SPEED
- INSTALL THE THERMOMETER IN
CENTRE GRILL
- TEMPERATURE INTHETHERMOMETER
SHOULD BE BETWEEN IN 10

10 MINUTES AT AN AMBIENT
TEMPERATURE BETWEEN
35 AND 40
