NOTE :

WHILE FITTING THE PRIMARY BACK

SEALS, MAKE SURE THAT THE LIPS OF THE

SEALS ARE FACING FORWARD

Actuate the primary plunger assembly for couple of

times and check for the quick return of the plungers.

Fit a new ’O’ ring in the groove on the mounting

flange of the body. Fit grommet into both inlet ports

by liberally lubricating the same with fresh brake

fluid. Fit fluid collection tray on to the fluid reservoir

outlets and position the same into the grommets

and slightly rocking them on to the either side, press

it home.

NOTE:

It is essential that the reservoir filler cap must be

removed. The baffle and baffle cover taken out from

its place and the breather hole in the cap is cleared

and the baffle and the baffle cover refitted before

fitting the filler cap on to the tank. It is advisable to

replace the rubber washer in the filler cap during

every overhaul.

Now the tandem master cylinder is ready for fitment

on to the servo.

DO NOT ALTER THE HEIGHT OF THE OUTPUT

PUSH ROD OF THE VACUUM BOOSTER UNIT.

The Tandem Master Cylinder is to be fitted back on

to the vacuum booster in the reverse order of

removal. Reconnect the outlet pipes and bleed the

system.

Tighten mounting nuts to specified torque.

Connect the outlet pipes to the master cylinder,

tighten the coupling nut to the specified torque. Fill

the reservoir with recommended brake fluid and

bleed the system. Check for brake fluid leakage.

TANDEMMASTERCYLINDER FORABSVERSION

Introduction :

The center valve master cylinder, suitable for ABS

system is made of aluminum body with the brake

fluid reservoir coupled on to the master cylinder.

The tandem master cylinder is designed to operate

dual line hydraulic system.

It consist of two independent hydraulic chambers

working in series and should one chamber or circuit

develop a fault, the other remains operative.

Removal

Dismantling overhauling & servicing of Tandem

Master Cylinder is not recommended. Therefore
