F.I.P. TIMING SETTING PROCEDURE (LUCAS

PUMP)

1. Lock the flywheel in TDC position (with FIP gear

and camshaft gear holesmatched as per procedure

followed for timing belt fitment) by inserting locking

pin 2654 5890 0307 through the cylinder block rear

wall into the flywheel.

2. Remove sealing plug on FIP located at the top.

Insert timing rod (2654 5890 06 01) Lucas part

no.: 9190-212. Refer figure. 170.

Fit assembly timing bracket (2654 5890 06 02)

Lucas part no.: 1804- 607 and dial gauge using

clamping screw provided on the timing bracket.

Loosen high pressure pipe lines from FIP, if fitted.
