EVAPORATOR COIL AND
EXPANSION VALVE
EVAPORATOR COIL
It is a heat exchanger cum dehumidifier which ab-
sorbs heat and moisture of the air passing through it
to give cold dehumidified air. As the refrigerant ab-
sorbs the heat it changes its state from liquid to
vapour. A thermister (
temperature sensor)
is used to
measure the temperature of the air passing over the
evaporator in order to avoid icing.
EXPANSION VALVE
This valve controls the flow of refrigerant into the
evaporator. It is used to expand the high pressure
low temperature liquid. When the outlet temperature
is high the refrigerant inside the sensing element
expands to open the expansion valve opening such
that more refrigerant flows.
When the outlet temperature is low the expansion
valve opening reduces to decrease to decrease the
refrigerant flow.
10.1.5.3 ROOF AC UNIT (if fitted)
The roof A.C. is mounted on your vehicle and the
blower switch for this A.C. unit is located on roof liner
above the second row seat for easy access to the
occupants. Air flow direction can be adjusted by ad-
justing the air vent of outlet bezel.
The roof AC can be switched on provided the front
