BRAKE SYSTEM

INSTALLATION OF FRONT BRAKE SHOES

NOTE:

Before installing brake shoes:

(a) Thoroughly clean the back-plate and brake drum

with dry cloth.

(b) Smear brake shoe contact points with grease.

1. Mount brake shoe assembly on back plate and

engage lower shoe return spring.

1. Install brake shoe hold down spring and turn brake

shoe pin with the help of special tool.

2. Install brake drum (Refer front brake drum

installation procedure)

3. Mount wheel (s) and tighten wheel mounting bolts

to specified torque.

TIGHTENING TORQUE FOR WHEEL MOUNTING

BOLTS = 8 - 8.3 Kg-m

4. Remove supports and lower vehicle.

4. Engage adjuster screw into the web slot of brake

shoes.
