NOTE:

Renew drum, if found outside the limits.

4. Visual inspection of wheel cylinders for brake fluid

leakage is to be performed.

5. Smooth up any slight scores. Heavy or extensive

scoring will cause excessive brake lining wear and

it will be necessary to resurface drum-braking

surface.

6. If brake linings are slightly worn and drum is grooved,

drum should be polished with fine emery cloth but

should not be turned.

WARNING:

(a) Do not use compressed air to clean brake

components. Dust from friction materials can be

harmful if inhaled.

(b) Do not use petroleum based fluid as damage will

occur to rubber components.

Installation :

NOTE:

Before installation of brake drum, make sure that

inside of brake drum and brake shoes are free from

dirt and oil.

1. Mount brake drum on wheel hub and tighten the

stub axle nut to specified torque.

TIGHTENING TORQUE FOR STUB AXLE

NUT = 12-14 Kg-m

2. Fit hub cap (Press fit type)

3. After installation, depress brake pedal 3 to 5 times

so as to ensure proper clearance between brake

drum and brake shoe.

4. Mount wheel (s) and tighten wheel mounting bolts

to specified torque.

TIGHTENING TORQUE FOR WHEEL

MOUNTING BOLTS = 8 - 8.3 Kg-m

5. Remove supports and lower vehicle.
