CONCERN CAUSE

Ride too soft

1. Faulty strut assembly

1. Replace strut assembly

2. Faulty springs and dampers

2. Check and replace

on both sides

Rack and

1. Rack and pinion attachments loose

1. Tighten or repair

pinion noise 2. Rack and pinion out adjustment

2. Check and adjust rack and pinion torque

3. Worn rack bush

3. Replace rack bush

4. Steering column mounting loose

4. Tighten to specified torque

5. Check for yoke screw tightening

5. Tighten to specified torque

6. Check for ball joint wear

6. Replace if found damaged

Lost motion 1. Steering wheel loose on the shaft

1. Adjust and tighten steering wheel nut to

(lash) at

specified torque
